Gear Hobbing

Gear hobbing is a very specialized machining process. We found this out when a customer asked that we include this process with other CNC machining that we had already been doing for them. Rather than purchase this as an outside service, the best option was to purchase a hobbing machine and keep all of the machining activity for this customer in one location. Our work diameter ranges from 8” to 16”. This current machine is totally dedicated to one customer. During strong economic times, it runs 20 hours a day. Another machine for additional capacity would be considered if necessary.
